Our Story
The Performance Student Union was founded by students, for students of the Performance School (Est. 1971) back in the times of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. At the PSU we value the long history of the student movement in affecting real political change through solidarity work, legal advocacy and demonstration. We are affiliated with both CFS Local 24, Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union, and The Society of the Creative School. Representatives of all three programs: Acting, Dance and Production and Design are elected yearly to advocate for the interests of our specific programs. The PSU is the bridge between our administration and the students. We fight against the privatization of education and advocate for the safety of, and the democratic, equity and financial rights of our students on campus. Through the united efforts of students, we can win quality, accessible education.
