Event Policies

Alcohol Policy

The Liquor License Act allows persons under the age of 19 to be present in licensed facilities although the license holder may elect to restrict entry to those of legal drinking age. PSU policy allows for underage attendance in licensed facilities with the express permission of the license holder. Adherence to specific policy at all PSU events is required for all underage students.

The PSU reserves the right to:

Deny admittance to the event, regardless of a valid ticket, to any person believed to be intoxicated, on drugs, rowdy, or otherwise troublesome
Request the removal of any person believed to be under-age, intoxicated, on drugs, rowdy, or otherwise troublesome
Post signs indicating these policies at the event entrance

Students violating the PSU Alcohol Policy may be subject to one or more of the following sanctions:

Verbal warning from PSU Staff;
Denied the purchase of alcoholic beverages;
Escorted out of the event premises;
Banned from attending future PSU events for at least four (4) months from the date of misconduct;

Smoking Policy

Smoking outdoors is restricted to designated smoking areas and is prohibited at all times inside any PSU-leased facility. This regulation is subject to applicable municipal bylaws, e.g. the City of Toronto’s Cannabis Bylaw, which prohibits cannabis smoking/vaping in public places.

Smoking areas (if available) will be designated by easily recognizable signage and include combustible waste receptacles.

Smokers must use the designated smoking areas and the provided combustible waste receptacles.

Drug Policy

All attendees are responsible for safety in/at the event. Drug use that impairs judgement, jeopardizes the safety of other attendees, and the general public and the environment, is prohibited.
